While on a vacation excursion 2 years ago in Punta Cana, we rode through this impoverished village, where kids and adults alike would come out to beg for money. While on a vacation excursion 2 years ago in Punta Cana, we rode through this impoverished village, where kids and adults alike would come out to beg for money. We handed a dollar to this one 10-year girl. Buy as we were driving off, she began to run full-speed after us, barefooted through rocks and dirt. That image stayed branded within us. So a year later, we went back year to look for her. While driving around, we got stuck in the mud in an isolated dirt road. Quickly we understood God guided us instead to serve in a different place: the Los Negros community in San Rafael Del Yuma, Dominican Republic.

Help Los Negros Learn How to Cook
INFOTEP Kitchen Project
In getting to know the residents of Los Negros, many expressed the desire to learn how to cook professionally. Hence we have partnered with INFOTEP (a local organization in DR that offers free vocational courses) to build a kitchen classroom right in the community. This project is also with the intention of honoring the memories of Dominga Lebrón and Bernice Lueck, the Foudation’s co-inspirators, whom spent their lives serving as school lunch-ladies.
